Offer a rich and diversified training to semi-professional dancers in Montreal through classes with professional and specialized dancers from Montreal as well. The city has many dancer with a lot of potential who just need a little more support in order to grow and improve.
The end show is directed to anyone who has an interest in dance. No matter what style you like, anyone will be able to relate because the show will be diversified and high in energy.
The show is also directed to anyone who wants to see a quality dance piece. There will be no vulgarity, everyone is welcome – all ages will be able to appreciate what they see.
The public will be invited to give feedback at the end of the show; a few people will be there to take the comments and reactions right away or through social media. A special hashtag will be created.
At the end of the training,
the dancers should have obtained:
A better physical shape;
A better knowledge of their own body;
A better technique;
The ability to communicate emotions and a story through dance;
The development of their creative side.
The end of the Program is marked by a show in January. This show is the dancers’ opportunity to showcase what they have been working on and all the progress they made from September to January. The show is a piece created by them with Andy Michel’s help as an artistic director.
EVERY WEEK A
For 3 months, 22 dancers will be following a dance training framed by Andy Michel. Every week a different professional dance instructor will come in to give an intensive workshop to the group. Feedback will be asked at the end of every class from the dancers. A challenge related to dance will be given every week to the dancers and you can find it on social media with the following hashtag: #DTJICHallenge.
From November to January (middle until the end of the training), the dancers will have to create a 30 minutes piece. The dancers will have to include elements from every style that they discovered (or rediscovered) through the training they received.
